The trendy rubber images in the Later Sk8r Assortment will grip your attention for a gnarly project any tween or teen will love. My favourite is the skull!

The Workshops on the Go Later Sk8r Scrapbooking Kit offers the papers and Assortment as well as one of CTMH's new products, Green and Blue Epoxy Bubbles. Sneak Peek: Hit the Waves!

This is the Spring/SUMMER Idea Book that's coming out, so it's no surprise Close To My Heart would offer two great summer themed lines: Surf's Up and Tommy.

Surf's Up is exactly the kind of paper line I've been waiting for: sunny, splashy and a little bit wild!

Perfect for all those fun-in-the-sun pages, whether at the cottage, a vacation or just at the beach, Surf's Up offers bright fun colours and groovy patterns.

The coordinating My Stickease Assortment has fun images and phrases to make eye-catching titles. "Paradise Found", "Fun in the Sun", "Destination Sun"--mix and match for the title that best suits your page.

The coordinating stamps support the fun/sun theme. Patterned Pennants is a D-size stamp set that makes a great sun. Tropical Paradise (C-size) includes images of surf boards, a palm tree and sea turtle. Great for those sea-side vacation pics.

There's also a special Surf's Up Assortment containing 3D pinwheels, yo-yos and printed buttons. Wouldn't it be fun to dress up a pool party with those?

Want a coordinating collection that offers papers, stamps, embellishments and page layouts? Check out the Workshops on the Go Surf's Up Scrapbooking Kit. This kit comes with the papers, an exclusive C-sized stamp set, the Surf's Up Assortment , Sparkles and more.

Surf's Up is a great collection for high-energy, fun crafting.

Tommy is another fantastic line for summertime. These nautical-themed papers and embellishments work with various themes: vacation to the sea side, summertime fun, boating activities and fishing, and also for pages about young children or kids in groups such as Scouts and Sea Cadets. The blue, red and yellow colour scheme is fresh and fun and the tiny anchors, large map and pinwheel patterns add a little whimsy.

Tommy Compliments Canvas Shapes are fun nautical-themed canvas stickers in the shapes of flags and pennants, starts, pinwheels, anchors and more.

Set sail for a nautical project with the canvas flags and circle cork labels in the Tommy Assortment. These embellishments are ideal for highlighting any adventure on life's open seas!

The new Keyboard Uppercase alphabet stamp set (B-size) offers a complete alphabet and number set with punctuation in a negative pattern--the letters are the cut outs (where the ink doesn't go) and the square around them carries the ink. This set reminds me of a Dynamo label maker--but it will never need new tape.

Sail Away is another new stamp set (C-size) that coordinates perfectly with Tommy. The sentiments and images fit perfectly with the sailing theme.

The Workshops on the go Tommy Scrapbooking Kit comes with the Tommy papers, an exclusive C-size stamp set with nautical images, the Tommy Assortment, and Dimensional Elements Stars. The chipboard starts are wonderful for stamping, inking, distressing, and adding pop to your pages.

Whether you're hitting the beach or hitting the waves, Surf's Up and Tommy will help you preserve those special memories.

Chantilly is a beautiful collection of papers featuring a bold floral with adorable birds. The colours are perfect for spring--whether you're making Easter cards or pages about outdoor playtime. The patterns have a sense of whimsy, but the geometric designs also add sophistication.

The Chantilly Assortment includes nine adhesive backed badge buttons with rhinestone accents. The whimsical designs include flowers, birds and spots. These buttons are gorgeous!

The For Always collection is perfect for commemorating those special black tie affairs, such as weddings and anniversaries, but the trendy, bold patterns also make this an excellent all-round paper for every day themes. Paired with bold colours, such as Ruby and Lagoon, the black and white For Always papers make a big statement.

For Always also has an embellishment collection: the For Always Assortment. Included are four Honey flower pins, two adhesive-backed resin Ruby flowers and four smaller adhesive backed flowers in Lagoon. This assortment is perfect for adding a special touch to pages and cards.

Both Chantilly and For Always patterns are also available in fabric: Chantilly Textiles and For Always Textiles. Both products come with three sheets of cotton fabric with pinked edges, measuring 14" x 24". Chantilly Textiles come in yellow, green and pink patterns. For Always Textiles are black and white with beautiful damask, polka dot and script patterns.

There are so many options for using these fabrics--tear them into ribbon strips, make ruffles and flowers, wrap them around 3D items....You may need more than one pack!

Mix & Match

One of the things I love about CTMH products is how they are designed to co-ordinate. Whether you're mixing papers between different lines or matching canvass stickers from one set with bling and brads from another, the overall feel when using CTMH products is cohesive.

My layout, based on the Canadian Scrapooker It's a Sketchy Challenge sketch, features one paper line, two stamp sets and four embellishment sets.

The hearts in the sketch suggest romance. I immediately thought of my long neglected wedding scrapbook and knew the perfect papers for the theme: La Belle Vie (pg. 37). I used the complimentary Jardin stamps (pg. 39) as well as Sweet Moments stamps (pg. 93).

Notice the journaling area? I stamped "Remember this day" from Sweet Moments repeatedly in Cocoa, Saddle and Cashmere inks. I like the ombre effect and also how the sentiment relates to the title--which is a canvass sticker from the Avonlea Complements Canvass Shapes set (pg. 18).

The hearts are Evergreen Cork Shapes (pg. 130) that have been stamped and inked with Cranberry ink. I really love these cork shapes! They take ink very well and give you a nice, crisp stamped image. No bleeding!

Finally, the page is dressed up with Bitty Sparkles, Bitty Opaque Pearl Adhesive Gems and Sparkles from the Red, Pink and Purple Assortment (pg. 127). It's very nice how the Sparkles come in different sizes. The tiniest ones used on this page are the perfect size to complement the Bitty Pearls.

I'm so glad how well the elements from my CTMH stash work together! With a great sketch and a few products, getting pages done quickly is a snap!

If you love this sketch too, why not try the Sketchy Challenge for yourself! If you do, leave a comment here so we can check out your work!

Happy Scrapping!

Happy Valentine's

The January Stamp of the Month is perfect for creating beautiful cards and pages for your sweetheart. With sweet sentiments and stunning flowers, this is a must-have set for all stampers.

With its beautiful blooms, these stamps reminded me of days gone by. I put them to work on a special page for my heritage album.

This layout, about my grandparents in the 1940's, has an antique feel but is also brightened by the colourful roses--perfect for a wedding page.

Notice the different ways I used the stamps? I created a subtle background paper by stamping the largest rose image repeatedly in Cocoa ink on Chocolate cardstock.

I created the embellishment roses by stamping the flowers with Versamark ink and embossing in black. I coloured the images with Cranberry, Sorbet and Olive inks and the waterbrush. Embossing and water colouring are a perfect combination! Crisp black lines and no bleeding.

La Belle Vie papers, with its large rose images in pink and mauve, are a perfect compliment to this stamp set and the old fashioned romantic feel of this layout. Opaque adhesive gems sprinkled around the flowers add a little touch of elegance.

For the Happy Valentine card, I was inspired by the card in the project suggestions that comes with every Stamp of the Month. Again, I created a tone-on-tone background using the largest rose stamp, added colour with Clementine papers and used the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment. Instead of water colours, I used pencil crayons to colour the roses. This is a Valentine I'll be very happy to send to my sweetheart!

The Smitten card features the Emily Bronte quote and Clementine paper. The moonstone gems and canvass badge button, which I stamped with a heart image from the Happy Days stamp set, finish off the card.

Visit my online store and check out the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book for the supplies used on these projects.

Happy Scrapping and Happy Valentine's!
